Southern Kenya Lake Field (SKLF) is one of the eleven entities in the West Kenya Union Conference, and it covers a significant part of Nyamira County known as Bukiria location, Kisii County's Muksero sublocation, Rachuonyo East SubCounty, and Rachuonyo South Sub-County
It is divided into five stations: Wire, Dudi, Wang'apala, Kwoyo, and Oyugis, as well as two institutions: Wire Dispensary and Nyabola Complex. (Nyabola Girls Secondary School and Girls Boarding).
At the time of its inception and inauguration, the Southern Kenya Lake Field had 44,549 members As of June 2023, there were 48,198 members spread throughout 295 congregations and 82 companies, a tremendous increase of 3,649 members thus far The total population of these sub-counties is 248,003 according to the 2019 Kenyan census
The SKLF has been operating at Wire Adventist Church. The President is currently occupying the district’s pastor’s office. The Executive Secretary and Treasury (treasurer and accountants) are settled in a small missionary office, and the department heads are operating under one roof in a church-owned facility.
In June 2022, the Kenya Lake Conference office, led by President Pr. Benson Okech Ogayo began building on the new edifice.
SKLF commenced work on a two-storey office building after its inauguration in August 2022
The field organized a fundraising campaign in April 2023 to assist in the construction of a modern office for SKLF workers The work is expected to be finished in the next months
Since the inception of the SKLF, there has been tremendous growth in membership and institutions. Plans are underway to finish the ongoing construction of a modern office and put up staff quarters within the field headquarters.
